Kasper De Vos & Liesbeth Henderickx for Udden Skulptur 2021, Sweden

Description

This work is the first joint work of Kasper De Vos & Liesbeth Henderickx, with thanks to the stone grant in 2020 in kkv-b. Looking for common ground within their both practices, they came across the place where they share imaginations and thoughts, where ideas are expressed. Their kitchen table is the central place in their lives. The place where they share a meal three times a day and look each other in the eye. An intimate and familiar place, a place of rest. By working together on one large block of granite, a physical meeting was inevitable, where they started from our own side of the table but ultimately shared responsibility for the overall sculpture. Letting go of one’s own practice in a shared sculpture that symbolises their way of living was enormously liberating.

The exhibition takes place in a former quarry known as 'Udden' Norra kajen Hunnebostrand, Sweden.
