For her exhibition at M, Nel Aerts creates a theatrical scenography that also forms the set for her performance. Her works on the walls present clownish figures and function as an audience watching a unconventionally designed stage. A snake-shaped plinth refers back to a sketch that inspired the exhibition. During Playground, Nel Aerts will activate her ‘theatre’ with a performance that will add an extra layer of meaning to her exhibition.
