Vaast Colson in FLACC

Description

Vaast Colson sees his artistic practice as “a circumstance consisting mainly of three related elements that continuously inform and nourish each other.” In concrete terms, this recurring cycle consists of: firstly, preliminary research, development and realization, then putting it into the world, showing and publishing, in short distribution and finally, documentation and archiving, aftercare. During his residency at the FLACC, the artist wants to focus on the third, hitherto underexposed part, in particular all the archive material that has been accumulated up to now, consisting of preliminary studies, models, source and documentation material, reproductions and the like. This part of Colson’s practice has now spanned a 20-year period that he plans to revisit chronologically.
