Céline Mathieu, who currently has a solo exhibition with us, "Hifi Stereo Vacuum Tube', will go into conversation with Dara Jochum about the exhibition, but also about the broader spectrum of Céline's practice.

Céline Mathieu
Céline Mathieu looks into the (in)visible circulation of goods. The idea of a constant stream of material and its crossings with value, economy and feelings, forms the basis for Hifi Stereo Vacuum Tube, her recently opened solo at PLUS-ONE Gallery. Her practice is both conceptual and sensory, and sound sets a slightly hypnotic tone. As often in her performative installations, the exhibition is site-and-condition specific. At PLUS-ONE Gallery she gives insight into the fridge/gut of the gallery workers, shares author rights to an influencer's image, and plays on the home interior of potential buyers.

Dara Jochum
Dara Jochum is a writer and researcher based in Berlin. She holds an MA from Goldsmiths and has worked across various galleries and institutions in editorial roles. She is co-founder and curator of the screening format Apartment 75, hosted in London from 2020-2022. Her criticism and art writing often focuses on contemporary art practices at the intersection of psychology, linguistics and ethics, and has been published in a number of outlets such as Spike Art Magazine, Various Artists and Berlin Art Link.

We will keep the gallery open until 15 minutes prior to the talk (until 6.45 pm)! So feel free to visit the exhibition before the talk, which is a 5-minute walk from the gallery.
