In recent decades, the Flemish Community has invested in acquiring contemporary works of art from domestic and foreign artists. Thus, over the years an impressive art collection was created. However, most of this collection is behind closed museum doors; only a fraction of it is exhibited in Flemish museums.

Artists Leyla Aydoslu, Denicolai & Provoost, Maika Garnica, Frederik Lizen, Karl Philips, Laura Nsengiyumva and Thomas Verstraeten selected 14 works by Pélagie Gbaguidi, Jacqueline Mesmaeker, Francis Alÿs, Kasper De Vos, Liliane Vertessen, Pascale Marthine Tayou and Adrien Tirtiaux to exhibit at C-mine.
