M HKA x PLUS-ONE Projects
Keith Haring: ‘The story of…’
PLUS-ONE Projects collaborates with M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, as a structural partner for a forthcoming exhibition about Keith Haring, that is currently in developing from research to realisation.
Working closely with the museum’s curatorial and communication teams, we take on the research phase, ideation, strategy and communication, as well as scenography and spatial translation of the concept.
Our involvement starts with in‑depth research, context and key works, drawing out narratives linked to Keith Haring that connect M HKA’s institutional history with contemporary questions in art and society.
From there, we co‑develop the exhibition’s conceptual framework, visitor journey and visual language, ensuring that each curatorial decision is mirrored in the (spatial) design of the show.
PLUS-ONE’s hybrid practice; moving between gallery work, extra‑muros projects and consultancy, allows us to approach the exhibition as an ecosystem rather than a single event. We help M HKA translate complex research and collection stories into an accessible yet nuanced exhibition experience, where scenography, text and works form one coherent rhythm for diverse audiences.
From early brainstorming and stakeholder sessions to production, installation and public communication, the collaboration spans the full A - Z of exhibition‑making. In doing so, PLUS-ONE acts as an embedded curatorial and cultural entrepreneurship partner, strengthening the ties between Antwerp’s gallery scene and its leading museum of contemporary art.
